This second-hand kitchen knife has been getting a thorough facelift. It has been extensively thinned, revealing more of the core steel. The edge was sharpened using a series of Japanese whetstones, finishing of with an Aoto ~3000 grit, a Japanese natural stone.
It has been gifted a custom octagonal handle, made out of walnut and reclaimed teak, with a elm spacer. The saya is custom made out of African mahogany that is actually off-cut material from a Norwegian furniture maker.
